A brief story of Le fournil Bakery
2011 to 2020
We opened our doors on April 10th, 2012 in our only location in Canmore, Alberta. After the floods in 2013, we took a break to rebuild our space and reopened in August 2014 once again serving our baked goods, coffee, and bistro menu.
Due to the 2020 Covid19 pandemic, we were forced to close the bakery and bistro space with no certain future plans. In October 2020, we again reopened our doors with social distancing measures and all the compulsory protocols. Unfortunately, our seating area was not conducive to proper distancing and we moved exclusively to take away service. Our bistro menu no longer exists.
2022 - Present
As the restrictions on restaurants and cafés kept changing, we made the decision to implement a new model for our store. We are now happy to offer along with our bakery counter and Italian-style espresso bar, a fine foods grocery section: L’épicerie fine.
L’épicerie fineis our gourmet grocery store, where we have curated local, Canadian, and International fine products for cooking, baking, coffee brewing, and eco-friendly living.
The bakery is home to many skilled workers from here and around the World, enriching our culture with their languages, traditions, and national cuisines.
Our little family loves to share its passion for high-quality, well-made fine foods.
